Mark J. Henning
Chief Executive Officer Mark Henning is a business, engineering, and technology-savvy geologist with 15 years of oilfield and business administration experience. Prior to co-founding Meridian Resources in 2017, Mark served as the Principal Geologist for Silicon Valley oilfield software and technology startup Tachyus. From 2008 to 2015, Mark was a Senior Geologist for Chevron working development projects in California's San Joaquin Valley and exploration projects in the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. In California, Mark was a lead geologist on the implementation of what became a massive horizontal drilling project that helped to significantly flatten the production decline at the super-giant Kern River Oil Field. Mark then assumed the role of lead production and development geologist for Chevron's 13,000 BOPD Potter reservoir at the super-giant Midway-Sunset Oil Field. During his time working the Deepwater Gulf of Mexico, Mark was the lead geologist for the successful exploration and appraisal of the Anchor Field located 31,000' to 34,000' below sea level. Anchor is one of the largest Lower Tertiary Wilcox discoveries in the Gulf of Mexico. During his tenure at Chevron, Mark was globally recognized as a recipient of the Reservoir Management Excellence, Mentoring Excellence in Technology, and Emerging Leader awards. From 2006 through 2007, Mark was an independent wellsite and prospect evaluation geologist in the Illinois Basin. Mark began his professional career in 2003 by helping to manage his father's architecture and engineering company. Mark holds BS and MS degrees in Geology from Indiana University and an MBA from the University of Southern Indiana. He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, the Society of Petrophysicists and Well Log Analysts, and the Indiana Oil and Gas Association. |
Ericson D. Briggs
Chief Operating Officer Ericson D. Briggs is a founding member and the Chief Operations Officer of Meridian Resources LLC. Eric is a third-generation oil man who began his career turning wrenches in his grandfather’s and father’s oil fields. He learned the business working as a pumper and roustabout for 7 years after which he spent 5 years as a driller on a rotary drilling rig and also ran a workover rig. Eric eventually became the Vice President of Operations for his father’s oil company, JEN Energy Corp. In 2011 he became an independent landman and spent 2 years as a title examiner on a large resource play in the Illinois Basin. In 2013 Eric went on to form Trigen Energy, LLC, which is a full-service land company that specializes in right of way acquisition, lease acquisition, and project management. Within its first year, Trigen employed 20 independent landmen and was responsible for all leasing activities for several large players in the Illinois Basin. In its first 3 years, Trigen executed over 600 land contracts that covered over 75,000 acres in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois. In early 2015 Eric formed Briggs Exploration and Production Company, LLC that owned and operated 25 wells in the Illinois Basin. Eric is a Registered Professional Landman and is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, the Indiana Oil and Gas Association, the Illinois Oil and Gas Association, the Tri-State Association of Professional Landmen, and the International Right of Way Association. |
